Day 39 - Just One More Push Up

A couple of days after the surgery, my wife delivered this Gorilla. With a mask. It was one of the few positive things that kept me smiling during a very difficult week in the hospital. I just needed one thing to keep my mind focused on the future and a reminder that things will get better. 3 months later, I completed 39 consecutive push ups. I hope you did too, however you were able to do it. One more day and we accomplish the Goal of 40. Just One More Push Up.

Day 7 - One Week officially in the Books

Working on that daily habit to exercise again. 7 Push Ups completed. Starting to get that strength back. For those following, there will be a point that you need to break up the push ups into different sets. That is ok and makes sense. Here's my recommendation, whether you do the push ups from your knees or standard push ups, try to do the most amount of reps in a specific set right before you are unable to do anymore. Rest two minutes and then start your next set. Another option is to split the sets in different parts of the day. As you build strength, you will be able to do more reps in each set.

Day Four - Easy to Go Down...

  I love it when the autumn turns leaves into beautiful colors such as this tree near my work. Yet, they will eventually fall to the ground and it will take months for these trees to develop trees again. That is how a push up program can feel like. You go down and you wonder if you can get back up. This gradual process will eventually turn into positive results. But it takes a bit of consistency and gradual progression. And yes, I feel a bit of soreness in my left shoulder. On to 40.
